From two story dwellings to 20 story apartments, or from a new residential subdivision to a new city district with commercial spaces, parking lots and residential space, Boydens engineering has the technical tools to address these different compositions. The main focus when designing the technical installations is to determine the desired comfort levels of the inhabitants (sufficient heating, cooling, enough power outlets, warm ambient lighting, domestic hot water supply etc.) while simultaneously keeping energy costs to a minimum. They focus upon the implementation of sustainable techniques such as a BTES (Borehole Thermal Energy Storage) field, rainwater harvesting, utilizing more daylight without incurring cooling loads, LED lighting, the use of sustainable materials, high performance building shell, etc.
